Craft weapon

The character knows how to create most types of weapons and ammunition from different materials.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Requires Hordes of the Underdark.
  • This skill cannot craft magical weapons by default, aside from two ironwood weapons (+1 attack and 40% weight).
  • This skill can be used to modify the appearance of a weapon against a difficulty class of 15. The cost in gold to modify an item is (1/4 of the item's current value + 1) per part modified (this has a maximum value of the item cost + 1, but this is rarely reached as there are only three weapon parts); the full value is charged even when the skill check is unsuccessful.
  • If a player has a modified score of 6 points in craft weapon or craft armor, then creatures, placeables, and doors can drop basic crafting material based on their appearance (see creature articles for the material dropped). Of note is the "large bone" dropped by skeletal creatures, as it can be crafted into a bone wand which can then be used with the craft wand feat.
  • This skill can be used to craft a weapon or weapon component from raw material. The gold cost, DC, and components are given below with a 1/4 gold cost charge and loss of components if the skill check is failed.

  • The local integer for the module of "X2_L_DO_NOT_ALLOW_MODIFY_WEAPON" is supposed to disallow modifying weapons when set to a non-zero value, however, this variable was neglected in the check by the x2_im_can_cw script.
  • Local variables on a weapon will be lost if the skill check to modify is failed or the crafting is aborted.
