The term Dual-wield refers to your PCs ability to make attack rolls while wielding a weapon in both hands. Any character can equip two weapons at once, but the weapons have to follow specific rules and some penalties will be applied.

  • A character cannot dual-wield if either weapon is a size category larger than they are (effectively occupying two hands to wield the weapon).
  • Whips and Flails cannot be placed in the off-hand as the game has no animation for such a situation.
  • Wielding 2 weapons incurs an initial penalty of -6 to your primary hand, and -10 to your off-hand.
    • If the off-hand weapon is light (i.e. is smaller than the weilder's category size) the character gains +2 bonus for both the main hand and off-hand.
    • If the character has the ambidexterity feat they gain a +4 bonus to the off-hand.
    • If the character has the two-Weapon Fighting feat they gain a +2 bonus for both the main and off-hand.
    • All bonuses are cumulative with the base penalty. The minimum penalty possible is -2/-2.
