Log-in acting funny.[]
I've been noticing for a few weeks now that when I log-in the new way, it doesn't log me in right away. In fact I have to "x" out of the log-in box and then go to a page (any page seems to work) and then I will show as logged in. Not sure what is causing this, I thought at first it was the cookies, but I have cookies turned on. Grom56 (talk) 02:35, October 20, 2016 (UTC)
- The login is working for me. The problem I have is that I don't see a "keep me logged in" option anymore. :( --The Krit (talk) 01:13, November 9, 2016 (UTC)
Printing pages and other issues these days.[]
First off, I'm using Chrome when here now-a-days.
It's gotten very hard to print pages now, can't find a "Print" option other then the F-5 combo. What happened to the print and print preview options? Also, all this side stuff: fandom; games; anime and so on, show up on any page you do print, even if you choose the option not to show it. It really takes up a ton of space on a printed page. It also makes charts like spells for casters get all moved around and cut into pieces. This is my main issue these days here, I print a ton of pages of the classes so I can use them as character sheets while playing, the way pages print out now, it's very clunky.
Other issues I'm having: I still can't sign in easily. I still have to "x" out of the log-in or use back arrow to go to main page, where I'm shown as logged in. That's been going on for years now.
The ads that overflow the Wiki can be very annoying to say the least! Is there an option (by paying somehow?) to shut all this extra junk off?
Thanks for listening. Grom56 (talk) 17:02, 23 April 2022 (UTC)
- I see a "Printable version" link when I am signed in (not when logged out), but it does not seem to have much of an effect. :( Firefox has an option (hidden under "more options" in the print preview) for a "Simplified" format that seems to produce what you want (even if not viewing the "printable" version); I do not see a similar option in Chrome. Sorry. Fandom gets upset if a wiki tries to hide their stuff (including the side navigation bar), so the sidebar on printouts might be an issue/bug to take up with them.
As for signing in, I don't know what you're seeing, nor how to address it. Once you are signed in, though, go to your preferences (hover over the bottom icon in the Fandom sidebar, then select "My Preferences" in the pop-up menu). Towards the bottom of the default section ("User profile") there should be a section labeled "Appearance". Change the "Ads" setting from "Show all ads" to "Don't show all ads". (Note that this setting does not affect the "Fan Feed" at the bottom of every article. Fandom assumes everyone wants to see that.) --The Krit (talk) 06:51, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
- Just tested this on Chrome. I think you really have to be logged in to hide the right side rail via that small arrow to the upper right, right below the wiki's top menu bar. For a print function including the preview use
CTRL+P
or Chrome's three-buttons menu,Print…
. Only thing left here now you might not want to have on your hardcopy is the bottom stuff – simply tell which or how many pages shall be printed rather than doing them all.
- Cannot say much about your login issues … I just had to login after opening an article in Chrome (didn't use the main page, however); clicked on the user icon far down on the left, chose "Sign in" (was it "sign"?), got a new page (not window or tab) where I filled in username and password, confirmed, was back on the article being signed in. That easy – sorry.

- Thanks for the help guys, I changed my appearance to "don't show all ads." We'll see how that goes. All the things I've been trying have been while signed on, so that's a plus. Was unable to find a small arrow on the upper right of the page, but maybe it's only on the main page, not here in the "Talk" section, will look there. Of course! CTRL+P!! Don't know where I got F-5 from....
- And yeah TK I found that "printable version as well... didn't make any difference for me either.
