This is a list of the non-player characters (NPCs) that are encountered in the original campaign's prologue, the setting of which is the Neverwinter Academy.
Pavel is a student at the academy and is the first NPC encountered in the campaign. After the academy is attacked, he will join the hero as a henchman for the remainder of the prologue. At the end of the prologue, he goes off on his own.
Bim is Pavel's brother and gives a tutorial on gameplay. He is killed in the attack on the academy.
Olgerd is a dwarf merchant and gives a tutorial on buying and selling. He is killed in the initial attack on the academy.
Berna offers instruction on using the journal and mini map. She is killed in the initial attack on the academy.
Herban is the head instructor in combat. He is killed in the initial attack on the academy.
Jaroo is the instructor of arcane magic. He is killed in the initial attack on the academy.
Elynwyd is the instructor of divine magic. He is killed in the initial attack on the academy.
Ketta is the halfling instructor of rogue skills and chief of security, espionage and intrigue in the academy. She is killed in the initial attack on the academy.
Geldar is the instructor of level-up, encountered after the initial attack on the academy.
