The primary ability of a class is the ability that influences special abilities of that class. For spell casters, this is the ability that determines the highest spell level that can be cast (unmodified ability−10) and the ability whose modifier determines how many bonus spell slots are gained. For all classes, this ability's modifier is the one used when calculating the DC of saving throws for that class' spells and class feats (spell-like abilities).
