A ranged weapon refers to an item which can be used to perform an attack roll and are primarily for the purpose of attacking at a distance (i.e., while not in melee combat).
Notes
- Ranged weapons can either consume ammunition or can be thrown.
- Ranged weapons with unlimited ammunition will not accept alternative ammunition in the appropriate item slot for use
- If a Ranged weapon is used in melee, the PC suffers a −4 penalty and provokes an attack of opportunity. The penalty can be reduced by taking the Point Blank Shot feat.
