Dark and dangerous creatures from the dreaded lower planes, shadow fiends never hunger or thirst, attacking only to satisfy their desire to do evil.
Special abilities Edit
- This is one of the creatures summoned by the summon shadow subspell and the death domain ability. It has a higher dexterity than a standard shadow fiend.
- The shadowdancer summon has a higher strength (12, giving it +1 to attack and damage rolls), damage reduction 30/+2, turn resistance +10, and immunity to knockdown. Furthermore, these monsters are incorporeal (which implies 50% concealment), and have use of their shadow attack. The ResRef for this creature is
- The shadowdancer summon sometimes stops attacking, doing nothing more than running up to foes, due to a bug in the special AI script that surfaces when the shadow fiend's action queue is cleared in the middle of a shadow attack (e.g. if the creature suddenly decides to follow its master). One possible solution for scripters is to remove (just) the call to
ActionDoCommand()from the last line of the
x2_ai_shadowscript. Another solution can be performed in game by silencing the shadow fiend.
