- Interestingly, although this creature is a denizen of the lower planes, it is categorized as a member of the undead in Neverwinter Nights, not as an outsider, most probably due to its resemblance to the undead Shadow.
- A summoned Shadow Fiend has a much higher dexterity than its more mundane cousins.
- There is only a 1 in 3 chance that a summoned Shadow Fiend will use its strength attack; it will most often use the standard combat AI.
