The Silver Marches is a region of the northern wilderness of Faerûn located a few hundred miles to the east of the city of Neverwinter. It is home to a small number of large, well-defended cities (such as the capital, Silverymoon) and many smaller, but no less well-defended, towns and villages. Citizens of more "civilized" lands in the south consider it a wild land of barbarians and monsters. Those who call it home consider it a land of great promise and beauty, but even they do not deny the hazards posed by the harsh climate and countless monsters. Many of those that choose to live in this cold and inhospitable land do so to start a new life or forget their past.
It is in one of the small towns of the Silver Marches, specifically Hilltop, that the Shadows of Undrentide campaign begins.
