ACP and maximum dexterity bonus[]
there was a sentence referring to armor check penalty being used instead of maximum dexterity bonus for skills, if ACP exists on the armor
this can be a tad confusing, because while technically true, this page isn't about max dex bonus and can mislead people into thinking that the MDB and ACP are related
the distinction about MDB not applying to skills is already made on the MDB page as appropriate, and while i didn't check, it's likely that the dexterity-based skill pages also have a note somewhere saying that MDB doesn't reduce the skill point total (when armor is equipped) --104.192.236.9 06:20, 15 June 2022 (UTC)
- There was no misleading going on. There is a relation between MDB and ACP in that both originate from the armor worn. In addition, they are similar in that both make it less desirable for high-dexterity characters to wear heavier armor. Historically, this combination of being related and similar had confused some players (more than just a tad). I think it is better to contrast the two so that people realize you never have both applying to the same quantity. Plus, having the contrast in the MDB article suggests it should be here as well, as ACP and MDB are on equal footing here – no reason to favor one over the other (as opposed to, say, the skill pages).
