Regarding the last "note": From what I've read on the bioware forums, there is a difference between a Familiar and an Animal Companion; a character cannot have two familars, but can have one familar and one animal companion. Is there a page somewhere that provides this distinction between companion and familar (and henchman, too)? I didn't spot it on the Associates category page... Alaisiagae 09:32, 6 August 2006 (PDT)
Regarding a recent deletion of a comment (which I reinstated) concerning summons: The spells of the druid, especially the early ones, are designed with the offensive nature of slowing, entangling, and paralyzing to make a target more susceptible to attacks from animal companions, summons, and dominated creatures. It is not until higher levels that the druid gains heavy damage or death spells. Elemental swarm in itself is very powerful for the level it is gotten at, and while summons tend not to do well when a character goes into the epic levels, it is then that the death and offensive spells tend to outdo the summons.
