Perhaps the note should be removed at all. Nothing really new in there I guess. And I think a Attack bonus (weapon property) page is necessary because some pages link to the Enhancement bonus page (KI Strike for example) but they should link to Attack bonus. --Kamiryn 02:50, 11 January 2006 (PST)

Damage stacking Edit

Perhaps this is a good place to place this questions. When adding slash 2d6 to a slash weapon would all the phys damage "stack" in regards to DR or would the 2d6 slash be put towards DR on its own? --Red 7-5-06

  • There is no special stacking of damage in regards to DR, and an enhancement bonus does not stack with a damage bonus, as long as the damage bonus is of the base weapon's damage type. --The Krit 20:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Physical damage and enhancement bonus' damage property. Edit

Take, for instance, a greatsword: Its damage type is slashing damage. Adding enhancement bonus +6 will add 6 slashing damage bonus, in regards to opponents with, for instance, 10/- slashing resistance. What if said weapon had an additional 1d6 Slashing damage bonus.

Will this damage at all be added to the total sum of damage or will it be overrun, as the character sheet says, due to the enhancement bonus damage being 'worth more' as it isn't a dice roll ?

Thank you. --193.216.51.194 December 2007

  • The +6 from enhancement will override the 1d6 damage bonus. --The Krit 20:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

For weapons of two damage types the enhancement bonus deals damage of the following type:

piercing/slashing = slashing

bludgeoning/piercing = piercing

Item properties like extra melee damage bludgeoning do not affect the damage type of the enhancement bonus.

After all the highest physical damages of their type are added, then the total damage is rendered physical and then the extra damage feats and base weapon damage types are applied to the total physical damage for damage immunity/resistance.

So a +5 enhancement scythe with +5 slashing will do 5 less damage than a +5 enhancement scythe with +5 piercing. WhiZard 21:20, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
