  • Does Epic Energy Resistance stack with Energy Resistance from items?
  • Does it stack with Energy Resistance from spells like Energy Buffer? If it does, which Resistance is used first?
  • Does Epic Energy Resistance stack with the feat Resist Energy (against the same element)?

Offhand, I only know the answer to the last one. Epic Energy Resistance does not stack with Resist Energy. -- Austicke 08:00, 12 Sep 2005 (PDT)

1) Yes, but only with the highest resistance amount. If you have boots that grant Fire 10/-, and take Energy Resistance: Fire I (10/-) you will absorb fire damage as though you had Fire 20/-. If you take Energy Resistance: Fire II (20/-) you will have Fire 30/-. If you add a helm that grants Fire 10/-, it won't change your resistance. I have tested this in the toolset by creating one item that deals 10 fire damage when bashed, one that deals 20 fire damage when bashed, and one that deals 60 fire damage when bashed. Then I made a club of Fire 10/- and another of Fire 20/-. I rolled up a character and took Elemental Resistance: Fire I (10/-). When you attack the 10 basher, you take 0 damage. Equip the 10/- club and bash the 20/- basher... you take 0. Remove the club and hit it again, and you take 10 fire damage (10 absorbed by your feat). Now equip both clubs and bash the 60 basher. You take 30 fire damage (20/- club is higher than the 10/- club, and then your feat absorbs another 10/-). You only absorb 30 fire, and not 40 fire (club 10/- PLUS club 20/- PLUS feat 10/-). 68.110.201.64 14:45, 17 August 2007 (PDT)AtriumXP
