conjuration foci[]
do conjuration spell foci improve the grapple check of this spell? -- 216.183.185.137 October 2007
- No, the grapple check is a grapple check, not a saving throw. Spell focus only affects saving throws. --The Krit 00:26, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
Grapple Check?[]
Is it supposed to say +4 +4 in the top line? --92.12.78.155 19 September 2008
- Yes. The first +4 is the strength modifier, and the second +4 is the size modifier for the tentacle. They are kept separate so they can be compared more readily to the second line of the check. --The Krit 06:47, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
I had the same question concerning the +4 +4 portion of the formula, so I went ahead and adjusted the description to be a little more detailed for future viewers. Terocone 17:51, 22 March 2009 (UTC)
Tiny Creatures?[]
Doesn't Evard's also ignore creatures of the tiny size? WhiZard 23:23, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
- Yes. --The Krit 03:55, 21 October 2008 (UTC)
Number of tentacles per creature ?[]
Any info on how are the tentacles distributed to creatures ? Also, does 50% ALWAYS hit when targeted at a single creature, or up to 50% ? --Mouettte 18:59, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
- Number of tentacles divided by the number of targets, rounded down. Minimum number of targets is 2. So 50% will always grapple (not necessarily grapple and hit) if there is only one target in the area of effect. --The Krit 20:16, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Previous versions[]
Can anyone confirm that DAMAGE_POWER_PLUS_* constants did in fact allow damage to pierce damage reduction in an earlier game version? If so, what version? --The Krit 13:34, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
- Come to think of it, the note mentioning these constants is really about
EffectDamage()
, not this spell, so I'm going to nix it. However, if anyone has the answer to when the power constants did work, it could be a useful thing to mention in the EffectDamage article. --The Krit 17:13, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
FPS[]
This spell can and will kill framerate on older computers. --140.198.72.102 October 1, 2009
- Anything in particular about this spell as opposed to other OnHeartBeat AoE like creeping doom? Also how old do you mean by older? When I tried the spell about a year ago on a Windows XP (1.69) I didn't recall having problems. Also did you check your modules, haks, overrides, and server to see if the conditions for EBT slowness involved a preexisting overflow for OnHeartBeat events? WhiZard 17:29, October 1, 2009 (UTC)
