Holy Sword cure?[]
Someone added that you can reverse Flesh to Stone by hitting them with a Holy Sword. I don't understand that. Is it because Holy Sword has dispel? I thought Flesh to Stone couldn't be dispelled. -- Austicke 17:09, 1 Dec 2005 (PST)
- Yes, if you hit someone with the Holy Sword it will remove the petrification effect from them. 129.21.188.147 07:16, 2 Dec 2005 (PST)
- Tried it, with normal game rules a Holy Avenger weapon can remove the petrification effect off of a petrified target. Dae-Glyth 12:39, 12 January 2006 (PST)
Resting[]
"Also, if the caster rests, any creatures turned to stone by him will be restored."
I seem to remember this only happening if you rested in same area as the affected creature. This could be due to a custom spawn system we use (Ness) DaBear 07:50, 11 July 2006 (PDT)
- No, it works if they rest anywhere. All spells are canceled upon rest. -- Alec Usticke 16:42, 12 July 2006 (PDT)
- When logging off and back on to a server after having petrified a creature (including PCs) under Hardcore difficult settings, the caster of Flesh to Stone can rest without the petrified creature being restored. --80.109.18.67 February 7, 2007
Flesh to stone + dispel ?[]
After casting flesh to stone on a player, it seems dispells won't work on the player. I noticed this after petrifying someone and tring to dispel their death ward. Can anyone confirm ? If yes, add this note to the page. --70.83.196.66 March 13, 2010
- That's a feature of petrification in general, not this spell in particular. Note added to petrified. --The Krit 05:58, March 13, 2010 (UTC)
- Holy sword does work for remove petrification also ;d ILKAY 02:47, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
Looting[]
"...and all possessions it carries turns into a mindless, inert statue"
Can I loot after I killed a petrified creature (which could drop something in a normal way)? 218.24.179.204 05:07, October 7, 2010 (UTC)
- Death removes all effects, including petrification. --The Krit 06:00, October 7, 2010 (UTC)
Immune creature exclusions[]
I added a note that liches are not immune. Though often thought to be skeletal, they are not among the appearances checked for by spellsIsImmuneToPetrification()
. I thought this was worth mention since that appearance applies to the Risen Lord form available to PCs with the undead shape feat. (The spectre form is immune.) I also thought about noting that dracolich, demilich, and the Heurodis lich appearances are immune, but that ends up making a lengthy note, so I settled for being specific that standard liches (with a link) are not immune. - MrZork (talk) 22:30, April 10, 2013 (UTC)
