With armor[]

"Monks lose some abilities while wearing armor or using a shield, but flurry of blows isn't one of them. It works with armor or shield. "

Has anyone tried this in game? When I equipped armor, my character's attack schedule reverted to normal (non-monk schedule) on my character sheet. I was able to use the feat however. Can anyone confirm/shed more light on this?

I think you answered your own question. Flurry never shows up the character sheet (nor does Rapid Shot, a very similar ability), but if you could use the feat, then it obviously worked. Faldred 05:36, 20 November 2006 (PST)

Flurry of Blows does add penalties to the offhand[]

Just tested in game. Built a monk/ranger. The offhand attack, according to the combat tracker, was reduced by 2. Edited until someone here proves otherwise? Or the combat tracker is lying?. 64.203.123.37 05:49, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

With shield[]

Edit 70587 (by an anonymous user) claimed that flurry of blows does not work with a shield equipped. I've tested it, and found that it does. I'll revert the change for now. In the meantime, we can use this talk page to investigate why we are seeing different results. --The Krit (talk) 00:42, 25 February 2022 (UTC)

Min-Maxing FoB[]

If you enable and then disable FoB after the first attack, all following attacks will have unaltered AB, and you will still get an (full AB) extra attack in the very end of the round, which is really good for e.g. timing a high AB knockdown/Smite/Called Shot etc. If you're up for a little micro managing, turning FoB on and off at the start of every round can be quite effective.

Should this be mentioned somewhere? Maybe more succinctly? Under exploits, possibly. --Vacationist 12:05, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
