Cap of 20[]

Jjjhhhlll, thanks for noting the error in description about damaging being capped at 20 caster levels. My preference is to leave the ingame description unchanged (even if its wrong) and then list any descrepancies in the notes section. I think it's better to have a record of the error, so people can be aware. Otherwise, someone is probably come along in the future and change it back, because they think we missed the cap. -- Austicke 09:11, 6 Dec 2005 (PST)

  • sounds good. I'll do it that way in the future. -- Jjjhhhlll 10:25, 6 Dec 2005 (PST)
  • It's funny you should say that cause that's my feeling too. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that is what happened to Bard Song. There are so many discrepencies out there through various manuals versions and patch changes, that someone will come along and change it from the correct version to what they think it is. I'm not sure what's a good way to go about it though. -- Chrominium 02:47, 7 Dec 2005 (PST)

Error[]

I just got this freaky error when I searched for Negative Energy Burst:

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was: (SQL query hidden) from within function "MediaWikiBagOStuff:_doquery". MySQL returned error "1062: Duplicate entry 'nwnwiki:messages:Bad_image_list' for key 1 (nwnwiki.bastionsofwar.com)".

Anyone know what this is? --Countess Terra 21:45, 26 January 2006 (PST)

Probably a temporary glitch such as the database going down for a few seconds. -- Alec Usticke 06:10, 27 January 2006 (PST)

Strength damage[]

does the will save apply for the str damage as well? -- User:216.183.185.137 October 2007

  • No. --The Krit 22:11, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

does empowering this spell result in a 50% increase in the str damage? -- User:216.183.185.137 October 2007

  • No. --The Krit 22:11, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

Innate level[]

2 or 3? GW-Ts 09:42, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

again, agreed. its level 3 in game. removed the line saying it was level 2 & left in the one saying it was level 3. Mysticjester 07:19, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Stacking?[]

Does the strength drain stack with multiple applications of this spell? Terocone 19:28, January 25, 2012 (UTC)

  • Do you have a reason to think it does stack? I could check the script if you do, but in general spells do not stack with themselves. --The Krit 16:06, January 26, 2012 (UTC)
  • It does not stack, the lowest STR level is 3 and the drain effect duration is permanent until countered with restoration or resting. --Iconclast (talk) 14:32, December 3, 2012 (UTC)

Additional counterspells[]

Based on the recent edits to numerous spell articles, is it true that this ".2da bug" disables all of the "additional counterspells"? What is the bug? --The Krit (talk) 05:08, 20 August 2022 (UTC)

  • Those edits were not mine. But, the bug is that spells.2da lacks the appropriate spell ID entries for the counterspells in the Counter1 or Counter2 columns. A cleric with NEP readied will not use it while counterspelling an enemy caster who casts NEB. I have tested on EE, not on 1.69, though the 1.69 spells.2da is deficient in the same way. - MrZork (talk) 06:39, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
  • Basically that. The 2das are missing their counterspell entries for those spells. This effects 84 out of the 92 spells I checked that have counterspells listed in their description. This issue is present in both EE and 1.69. The wording was copied from an existing spell page, light. Maybe there's a better description that could be used in the spell notes other than just calling it a "bug". --SummonFox (talk) 07:49, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
  • 84 out of 92 is not quite all. So I guess working the note into the spell template is not a good option. Oh well.... --The Krit (talk) 19:17, 20 August 2022 (UTC)
