Monks as (non-)Outsiders[]
As far as I can tell, there is no special connection between monks and the outsider race in NWN. I understand the value of clarifying a distinction between NWN and the PnP game, but I think that the current note "20th level monks are considered outsiders in PnP, but they cannot be turned in NWN." is too specific to turning. It begs the question, "So, are level 20+ monks considered outsiders in some way other than turning in NWN?" And, the answer - as best I know - is "No". I have changed the note to make it more clear that 20th monks aren't outsiders in NWN at all, not just that they aren't subject to turning as outsiders. - MrZork (talk) 21:50, July 16, 2012 (UTC)
- The closest reference I know of is in the manual for the original game where level 20 monks are described as "supernatural beings". Outsiders are supernatural beings, so there is some connection, but it is weak. It looks like that note evolved from a PnP player's question, rather than the note being an attempt to convey any information about NWN.
