9 slots max[]

The article says that no matter what source of spell slots the max is capped at 9. I'm quite positive I've seen 10 (actually coming here to find out about that). I _think_ it was because of a direct bonus slot on an item. Anybody knows for sure? Maeglhachel 10:23, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

  • I just ran a test and got 10 slots for druid spell level 1. So I have removed the part about a cap. If Mpheyse (who originally added that info to the cleric article) or anyone else knows how to see the cap, please speak up. --The Krit 15:02, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

Items and casting ability[]

Do spellslots granted by items function normally, when level of the slot granted is higher than caster's ability normally allows? (E.g. will a paladin with 13 Wisdom be able to memorize and cast Death Ward if he has a ring with Paladin spell level 4 equipped? Will he require 14 base wisdom or 14 total wisdom?) 195.214.232.10 15:56, July 2, 2014 (UTC)

  • From spell: "A spell can be prepared only if the character's current (modified) and base casting ability (intelligence, wisdom, or charisma, depending on class) is at least 10 plus the spell's level." Probably should have something similar here as well. --The Krit (talk) 04:01, July 3, 2014 (UTC)
