Shifting[]

If I shift into a risen lord and someone casts stone bones then unshift back into my natrual form do I keep the stone bones effect or is it automatically dispelled when I unshift? --74.207.73.102 21:57, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

  • As with other effects cast on a character while polymnorped (e.g. bull's strength, mage armor, etc.) the effect remains for the normal duration of the spell, even if the polymorph is canceled. (That is, it looks like the stonebones script checks for applying the AC effect only at the time the spell is cast.) For a quick test with my mage, I created potions of stone bones. I polymorphed into a zombie and took the potion, with the expected +3 natural armor bonus. Then I canceled the polymorph and my AC was still boosted by 3. Note that, as one would expect with a natural armor bonus, the effect does not stack with other sources of natural AC bonus, such as a necklace of natural armor or barkskin. - MrZork 00:31, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
  • Cancelling a polymorph rarely removes separate effects. This also holds for the more exploitable negative energy burst strength boost. WhiZard 00:35, August 8, 2011 (UTC)
