Save?[]

Is there a save vs the damage? (For non-undead? For undead? For vampires if they save vs the slay?) - Zenobia 10:08, 27 July 2006 (PDT)

  • I added note about the three reflex saves. -- Alec Usticke 10:20, 27 July 2006 (PDT)

damage type?[]

I am looking at spells.2da (the one from 2dasource.zip) and I see that the Immunity is listed as Divine. It looks to me that all of the spells that do magical damage have their damage type listed as ****. I'm a bit new at this, so does that mean that the damage type for Sunburst is really divine damage (and not magical) or am I looking at the wrong version of spells.2da? Or maybe I don't know to read the file... - MrZork 18:27, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • The type of damage inflicted is controlled by the spell script, not a .2da file. --The Krit 19:40, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
  • Thanks for the quick reply. Of course, I should have guessed that, now that I see spells like Flame Strike and Ice Storm must work that way, since they list only one or neither of the types of damage they inflict, respectively.
Is the ImmunityType entry in spells.2da used for anything? Is it just the descriptor or something? - MrZork 19:53, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
  • I think that entry is used in spell resistance checks (allowing a creature to resist a spell because it is immune), but I have not looked into that myself. It is supposed to be the descriptor from the spell description, but those two files (.2da and .tlk) are not always perfectly in synch. --The Krit 03:20, August 11, 2010 (UTC)

Area of Effect[]

The area of effect in the script is COLOSSAL, not HUGE.

  • Edited to reflect that. It may be possible to tidy the spell template field to get it to read huge colossal (10 meter radius), but I wasn't sure how to do it. - MrZork (talk) 07:36, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
