My information may be from biased sources, but I thought the "typically" (maybe most?) desired benefit of this spell was the ability to pierce stealth. In that light, the note about replacing this spell with ultravision and see invisibility seems rather weak. --The Krit 18:40, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
- I put the remark in about ultravision and see invisibility. I'm not considering PVP though. In the modules, uncovering stealth doesn't seem to be that necessary. In a multi-player competition it would probably be critical.Dremble 19:41, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not considering PvP either. (The concept runs counter to what I see as a primary principle of D&D, so I generally avoid it.) I'll grant that not many NPCs use stealth in the official campaigns with the default AI, but I have encountered stealthy NPCs — some of them shadowdancers — quite a bit in other modules. (In particular and for one example, the people who play on World of Greyhawk would likely strenuously disagree with uncovering stealth not being that necessary.) --The Krit 22:09, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
