Learning to use WikiEdit
- Greetings. It would be appropriate for you to read the help pages and learn how to use templates before modifying existing documents. While your enthusiasm is wonderfully encouraged, a little bit of prudence may be a good thing. If you find that you have to completely modify an existing document, thus changing its original context to something totally different to the original... chances are you are not editing the correct page. Food for thought. Enjoy, Enigmatic 04:13, 26 April 2006 (PDT)
- Hiya! I told a friend "here's the template" and gave him the link. He edited the template not realizing the result. When I discovered what happened, I took his misplaced edits and created the page he wanted. I left it to the powers that be to revert the template, because another user already requested it. Still, you are correct that I should read the help pages. Experimenting in the sandbox is not enough to know protocols. Thanks for your patience and encouragement. Fitz 08:28, 26 April 2006 (PDT)
