Just to let you know, it wasn't spam on your page; it was vandalism of a template. The template is fixed, so I restored this page. (You don't have to keep it if you don't want to.) --The Krit 06:11, 29 January 2007 (PST)

Thanks Krit, awesome job with fixing all the vandalized entries. I need to take some classes in wiki editing to keep up with you and lending you som eproper help next time... or maybe I just miss the right buttons for fast reverting ;) Kail Pendragon 07:00, 29 January 2007 (PST)

  • What the heck prompted such an attack? Also, is there a way to just revert the whole content back X amount of days?Bromium 07:04, 29 January 2007 (PST)

I wish I knew all the editing tricks myself. Usually I just copy paste the right version over the vandalized one. Some spam had neon flashing lights, others were 300-400 kb pages, other just nonsense and so on. As to what sparkled it: go figure! Luckily there are still some defenders left :D Kail Pendragon 07:06, 29 January 2007 (PST)

Here's a little bit of vandalism-fighting tips from a Wikipedian. To revert to older revisions, rather than copying over the old text (which is time-consuming), simply go to the edit history of the page and click on the date of the last edit before the vandalism. This will bring you to a page viewing the previous revision. If this looks good, press the "edit" tab at the top of the screen to put the text of the revision into an edit box, and then hit save. This way you can revert to older revisions without having to copy-paste anything. --Miserable Failure 07:19, 29 January 2007 (PST)

Fast reverting: I've been given access to the special "revert last edit" button, which does speed things up. :)
Reverting X days: Sounds like a good idea to me. There were a few legit additions to the wiki during the attack, but nothing big. Unfortunately, if mass reversion is possible, there's probably only one person who can do it—Boss Man—and he doesn't seem to be around at the moment. --The Krit 08:12, 29 January 2007 (PST)
