Vermin are a race of creatures which include insects, arachnids, other arthropods, worms, and similar invertebrates. While these are "animals" in the real-world sense, they are not members of the animal race within Neverwinter Nights, which is a notable distinction when using animal empathy. Vermin tend to be immune to mind-affecting spells.
