Description: When casting vine mine, the caster must select one of the following effects that will be created in the targeted area:
- entangle (as the spell)
- hamper movement (movement speed is halved)
- camouflage (add +4 competence bonus on hide checks)
Notes[]
- Requires Hordes of the Underdark.
- Creatures with woodland stride are protected from all negative effects, but due to a bug, incorporeal creatures are not.
- The spell schools for the sub-spells are conjuration for camouflage and hamper movement and transmutation for entangle.
- While vine mine officially has an innate level of 5, each of the subspells that can be cast have an innate level of 1.
- Extend spell has no effect on any of the sub-spells.
- The entangle variant has a duration of one round per caster level.
- It can cause multiple entangle effects to be applied simultaneously, inhibiting spell-casting more than the normal spell would (a bug).
- Sometimes, the dexterity is permanently left at 3 after the entangle effects have been removed (a bug).
- The camouflage variant acts as a 6 meter radius area of effect granting the +4 bonus to any ally that remains in it.
- The affected region is darkened, allowing all players to know where a hidden creature might prefer to be.
- The hamper movement variant's speed decrease is applied on enter and cumulatively each round. However, only one instance of the speed decrease is removed when exiting the area of effect (a bug).
